YMaSS, the conference dedicated to young mass spectrometrists and organized by the Italian Mass Spectrometry Society (IMaSS), returns in 2026. The 2026 edition will take place on October 22, 2026, at IFOM in Milan and will be held over a single day, featuring a new format focused on highlighting the contributions of young researchers. YMaSS was created as a forum for scientific exchange: a space where doctoral students, postdoctoral fellows, and young researchers can present their findings, discuss methodologies, and build new collaborations.

The event will begin with Giovanni Boniolo, philosopher of science. The program will continue with a plenary session on medical and metabolomics topics, in line with the scientific focus of the host institution, followed by short oral presentations (10–15 minutes, including discussion) to maximize participation and provide visibility to as many young presenters as possible.

Special attention will be given to the poster session, which will be held in a dedicated space and at a designated time, separate from the lunch break, to ensure high-quality discussion and genuine scientific interaction. In the afternoon, the closing workshop, “Careers in MS,” will take place. It will be structured as a roundtable discussion featuring a diverse panel of experts from academia and industry, with possible participation from the European Institute of Oncology depending on the number of attendees.

YMaSS Day 2026 will be an opportunity to share research, expand your professional network, and actively contribute to the growth of the Italian mass spectrometry community.
